CloudRAN.AI Launches Integrated MCX: Mission-Critical Communications Built Into Private 5G

CloudRAN.AI today announced the launch of CloudRAN.AI Integrated MCX, a new product line that brings mission-critical communications (MCX) into the core of Private 5G deployments—combining MCX applications, 5G Core, and Private RAN infrastructure into a deployment-ready integrated solution.
Across industries where operations depend on coordinated teams—mining, transport, public sector, utilities, and large industrial sites—communications can’t be treated as “just another app.”
When networks are congested, when coverage is imperfect, or when incidents occur, best-effort voice and video are not good enough. CloudRAN.AI's Integrated MCX is built for these environments: it is designed to provide prioritized, policy-driven communications that can be engineered, controlled, and governed as part of the Private 5G system.
Why MCX — and why now
MCX is not a proprietary app. It is the global 3GPP standard for mission-critical communications, designed to evolve industries from narrowband voice systems (like TETRA/DMR) to broadband “voice + video + data” on a unified network.
But the market has had a gap: many solutions stop at “an MCX application,” while the network underneath remains best-effort — especially during congestion, exactly when mission-critical traffic needs priority.
CloudRAN.AI Integrated MCX is built to close that gap.

The CloudRAN.AI difference: network guarantee, not just an app
Most software vendors provide an MCX application. CloudRAN.AI provides the app and the network guarantee — because our MCX application is organically integrated with the 5G Core through the N5/N33 interfaces, allowing the application to directly request the core to apply priority treatment and “clear a path.” A third-party OTT app cannot do this.
That “magic link” enables what mission-critical users actually need:
A QoS fast lane when it matters most
CloudRAN.AI's Integrated MCX supports dedicated mission-critical QoS behavior, including:
Preemption — the ability to displace lower-priority traffic when needed
Dedicated Bearer — an instant private tunnel for the duration of the call/session
In plain language: when the network is busy, mission-critical communications don’t compete with background traffic — they take priority by design.

Moving beyond “OTT” communications
Many enterprise communication tools work over-the-top. That makes them easy to deploy, but it also means they compete with everything else on the network. In high-stakes environments, that model breaks down.
Our Integrated MCX supports two paths so customers can adopt at the right pace:
OTT Deployment: faster rollout as an application layer over an existing Private 5G network (no MCX QoS guarantee)
Dedicated Bearer Deployment: mission-critical QoS with priority treatment, supporting capabilities such as preemption, traffic prioritization, and assured service behavior. The result is simple: communications are no longer left to chance; they become network-guaranteed services.
This lets organizations start quickly, then upgrade to guaranteed QoS where and when it’s required.

One-stop integrated architecture (pre-integrated package)
Our Integrated MCX is built as an integrated architecture rather than a loose collection of components. It packages the MCX application layer together with the connectivity foundation required to deliver predictable performance: the 5G Core, the Private RAN, and the operational control plane that ties these pieces together.
This integration matters because MCX isn’t only about talk groups and devices—it is about ensuring that real operational intent (“this user is priority,” “this session must be protected,” “this traffic must be guaranteed”) can be enforced by the network. CRAI Integrated MCX is designed to make that enforcement practical in real deployments.
CloudRAN.AI Integrated MCX combines:
MCX Application
5G Core
CloudRAN Base Station / Radio
…into a single, pre-integrated package for faster deployment and operational simplicity.

Seamless interoperability and legacy integration
For many customers, transformation is not a greenfield exercise. Existing radio systems, dispatch processes, and legacy networks cannot be replaced overnight.
CloudRAN.AI Integrated MCX includes interoperability options through an Interworking Function (IWF) gateway, supporting integration with legacy and third-party systems such as TETRA/DMR, PSTN, and other operational communication platforms.
This enables phased migration—modernizing toward 5G while preserving continuity with what’s already in the field.

Built for critical use cases
Our Integrated MCX is aimed at organizations that require reliable communications under operational pressure, including mission-critical push-to-talk, video, and data scenarios.
One example is smart mining safety, where teams rely on prioritized communications for:
Incident alerts (MCPTT)
Visualization (MCVideo)
Response data (MCData)

Similar needs appear in transportation hubs, industrial campuses, public sector networks, and large-scale private network deployments where reliability and governance are mandatory.
This is the core idea behind the product line: bridge 5G infrastructure and business value through MCX — so Private 5G becomes a platform for outcomes, not just connectivity.
Part of a broader CRAI private network portfolio
Integrated MCX expands CloudRAN.AI’s Private 5G portfolio by adding a mission-critical communications layer that is designed to work natively with the Private 5G foundation.
The solution is compatible with CloudRAN.AI’s broader Private 5G stack approach—including Private 5G core and “Private 5G in a Box” deployments—enabling customers to align coverage, capacity, and communications assurance within a single roadmap.
Availability
CloudRAN.AI Integrated MCX is now entering customer engagement and is available. CloudRAN.AI is working with partners and early adopters to validate end-to-end deployments and prepare demonstration scenarios for upcoming industry events.
CloudRAN.AI's Integrated MCX is designed for one purpose: to make mission-critical communications an engineered, assured capability of Private 5G—not an application that “usually works.”
